For 2015, the award-winning Clifton receives an updated upper with a focus on lightweight comfort in the cliFTon 2. A softer, lightly padded tongue provides increased protection across the foot, and structural overlays improve midfoot support. The industry-leading ride remains unchanged, and the road-focused outsole includes slight updates to the rubber placement to improve durability. When all is said and done, one of our favorite shoes just got better.

Brilliant shoes as you get a comfortable ride but minimal ground impact so you can run a lot further than you think is possible. Absolutely love love them feel 20 years younger. Fit is a touch narrow but I have wide feet and have not had any problems at all. Basic black colour means you can wear them anywhere (and feel taller)
Best shoes I've ever owned.
Like the Clifton 1's they are supper comfortable and can feel the additional support on the outer foot. One thing I love about the Clifton no need to wear in the shoes. Downside I do find after 6-8 months especially if you run 5-10 KM regularly, you will have to replace often.
This is my 4th pair of Hokas having run in the Bondi 3 (did not work at all), Huaka (excellent shoe) and Challenger ATR (also a very good shoe). Compared with the Huaka, the Clifton 2 are less roomy in the forefoot but I've done a 20k run in them without getting any blisters so I suspect they're just different. I think the upper structure overall fits me slightly better than the Huakas (it's a little stiffer on Clifton 2). After about 70k in their first week, I think the Clifton 2 is more durable than other Hokas I have had. The Bondi 3 fell apart almost immediately (probably just a terrible fit for me as it happened twice) and the Huakas are just dying now after ~800k. I never had a problem with the thin tongue of the Huakas so the padded one on Clifton 2 for me just adds weight but they're still so incredibly light that it really doesn't matter. Finally, compared with Huaka, I like Clifton 2 perhaps 5% more so it's my new go-to shoe.
Comfortable and the cushioning is great really reduces the impact on the joints. Like other reviews the toe box is a little cramped and toes tend to rub a little. With some mucking around with lace configuration I'm very happy with the shoe, one of the best runners I've had.
Same exceptional cushioning as the original with a padded tongue for extra comfort. The Clifton is the only shoe I use for racing & training. Nothing else goes close to the quality of ride. Could do with offering a model with a wider toe box.
