I ordered the shoes online on a Tuesday and within 2 days they had arrived at my home in Regional Victoria. This is very impressive. Just breaking in my very first pair of Hokas and happy at this stage.
First, I found the online purchase efficient and hassle free. The shoes arrived safely within a few days of placing the order. Although I found the Hoka Conquest a little bit heavier than my other Hokas - the Bondi 4 and the Challenger - they are still wonderfully comfortable and well-cushioned enough to absorb most of the impact of running on bitumen, At 74 years of age this is of ever-increasing importance to me. Had I not discovered Hokas I would be cooling my heels, nursing arthritic knees, hips and lower back. Now, with shoes like the Conquest, I can see myself completing 50 km plus a week for the foreseeable future - and enjoying the experience! I purchased the Conquest shoes at a substantially reduced price which, as I am a pensioner, is also of considerable importance to me. I will keep looking for Hoka bargains in the future.
These shoes made an amazing difference to how easy I was able to run. Will be buying more of the hoka shoes.
I have plantar fasciitis in both heels and have had my first pair of conquest for a year. Just recently whilst on holidays in Melbourne I was clocking around 15 km a day walking in them with little pain. They are so good that I have just bought my second pair for normal everyday use.
I've just supplemented my year-old pair of Hoka Men's Conquest shoes by purchasing a back-up pair. I need to wear a shoe with plenty of cushioning for my everyday walking about as, at 70 years of age, my feet were suffering bouts of plantar fasciitis due to a relatively active lifestyle. I wear Hokas daily and in every situation. They save me from needing to wear orthotics and my plantar fasciitis has not returned since I began wearing these shoes. My first pair of Conquests is showing signs of wear on the upper front after more than 12 months of constant use. The soles are still fine with plenty of cushioning remaining. The Conquest gives me 'maximal cushioning protection" as claimed in it's publicity. I've been wearing various Hoka models since my podiatrist introduced me to them in 2012 to assist with my mobility and this recent purchase is my fifth pair. All five pairs are still in use, some are now worn to the stage where they are only suitable for yard use and as beach shoes but they all still protect the soles of my feet and remain comfortable to use. I highly recommend the use of Hokas to anyone who needs a shoe with a high degree of cushioning.
A proper running shoe well worth the money will buy more
Number 11. Pair 11. 7700km wearing Hoka. As a veteran of ultra marathon - 27 years - Hoka one one has given me and my body a future far beyond than I could have imagined. After injury over injury with other brands of shoes. After trying the "fashion and the trends" I have settled with the Hoka one one. My recovery is almost instant from each run. 30km back to and back again - almost without a twinge. I shall be using Hoka one one this year for several marathons, a couple of 50km, 100km and to end the season a 24hr track. Thanks guys. Keep up the research. You are going from strength to strength and I am privileged to be doing the same...
I was introduced to your product at the SMH 1/2 marathon expo. Unfortunately I was unable to run due to a running injury. After talking to your rep I thought this must be fate! I ordered my shoes a couple of days later and have started my road to recovery having had my first run in 8 weeks. Only 5 kms on a treadmill but it was amazing! It felt like I was running on giant foam shoes! I kept looking down to make sure I wasn't actually running like a wounded animal! It felt that strange that it took me awhile to get used to my feet not pounding on each step! I'm 50 so I expected a bit of pain in the morning, especially after 8 weeks of no cardio other than a walking. To my amazement, I had a bit of a sore knee, which I'll chalk up to my age but no soreness in my back, (which was the reason for not running and many visits to the physio), no sore calves, quads or glutes!!! Although this was my first run, I'm ready for another one and plan on doing the Gold Coast 1/2 in July followed by City2Surf in August! You have definitely won me over and I'll be telling everyone I know about your shoes!!!!! Thank you!
